Casa Hezbo was designed by French architect Ludwig Godefroy in a brutalist style. It is one of only four houses of this design. Gardens and a private pool are built into the living areas, so you move between indoors and outdoors all day.
The master bedroom, with a king-size bed, sits upstairs on the mezzanine. The second bedroom, with a queen-size bed, is on the ground floor next to the open-air living spaces. Both bedrooms close fully with shutters and have air conditioning and ceiling fans.
The slanted concrete roof doubles as a terrace. Take a cold beer up at the end of the day and watch Puerto Escondido’s sunsets, unless you’re already down at the beach.

La Punta, on foot
La Punta is the southern end of Playa Zicatela in Puerto Escondido, one of the best-known surf beaches in the world. It still feels like a small surf town: sandy streets, beach bars, taco spots and coffee shops.
You won’t need a car or even a bike. The beach, restaurants, bars, shops and the pharmacy are all about five minutes’ walk from the house. For the rest of Puerto Escondido, walk along the beach or take a taxi for around USD 3–5.
Getting here
About 20 minutes by taxi from Puerto Escondido airport (PXM), and less from the bus terminal in town.

Playa Zicatela, Playa Principal, Carrizalillo, Coral and Bacocho, or a day trip to Zipolite.
Beyond surfing
Release baby sea turtles, take a night boat to see the bioluminescence, go dolphin watching or horseback riding.
